Sophomore pitcher Jayla Jackson of the softball team has been named the Embry-Riddle Female Athlete of the Week for the week of Feb. 26-March 4, marking her second weekly award of the season and of her career. Jackson tossed a pair of complete game victories this week, beginning with a five-inning 12-1 win over American International on Wednesday in which she allowed one run on two hits with five strikeouts. On Saturday, Jackson hurled a complete game shutout against No. 10 Saint Leo, allowing just two hits in the victory.
