Kara Funke of the women's cross country team is Embry-Riddle's Female Athlete of the Week for Oct. 8-14. For Funke, this marks the first weekly award of her career. Funke, a sophomore from Leesburg, was the top Eagle finisher and second-fastest Non-NCAA I runner at the South Florida Invitational on Friday, clocking a time of 19:09.4 to help the Eagles to an eighth-place finish, second among non-NCAA I schools.
