Fanny Kristiansson is the 2018-19 Embry-Riddle Athletics Female Student-Athlete of the Year.

Kristiansson completed her junior season with the ERAU women's soccer team in the fall, playing 522 minutes in net for the Blue and Gold. The Stockholm, Sweden native has a career 1.26 Goals against average, making 101 saves for a 74.8 save percentage, while registering 11 shutouts during her three seasons with the Eagles.

Kristiansson boasts a 3.95 GPA in the accelerated Bachelor's to Master's Civil Engineering program, focusing on transportation. A three-time Sunshine State Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll recipient, Kristiansson was also named a 2018-19 ERAU Athletics Eagles of Excellence Scholarship winner, and has earned Dean's List recognition in every semester of her college career. She serves as the President of the ERAU Daytona Beach chapter of Engineers Without Borders and is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineering student organization. Kristiansson has also been certified as a first responder with ERAU's Medical Emergency Disaster Relief Club.

In the summer of 2018, Kristiansson was selected out of a pool of nearly 8,000 applicants as the Swedish representative for the Telenor Youth Forum. Together with the Telenor Group (a telecommunication company), the Nobel Peace Center in Norway and 23 other students from 12 different countries, Kristiansson is working to tackle global problems. Kristiansson was honored by attending the Nobel Peace Prize ceremonies this past December in Oslo, Norway after heading to Bangkok, Thailand last May to create digital exhibitions that use big data to do social good.

"Fanny is a woman of strong integrity, gifted intelligence, an authentic desire to make the world a better place, and a quiet work ethic that is second-to-none," ERAU women's soccer head coach Samantha Bohon said. "Our women's soccer program, that has produced exceptional student-athletes and previous Steve & Vicky Ridder Scholarship winners, is better off because Fanny Kristiansson is a part of it. Fanny has taken the bar and raised it to an entirely new, global level. She is truly making a difference here and worldwide."
