Embry-Riddle's first Varsity Eight boat of Megan Byrne (coxswain), Shelby Ernst, Kendra Sander, Sofia Lorenzini, Alexandra Weilert, Elise Dezotell, Helena Schmidt, Soleil Edwards, and Veronika Zdrazil defeated defending MAAC Champion and 2022 NCAA I participant Jacksonville in a dual last Saturday. The Eagle-powered vessel was nearly even with Jacksonville's first Varsity Eight boat through the first two pieces (4,000 meters), just one second back. It was in the third piece where the Eagles shot ahead by eight seconds to win with a time of 24:38.7 compared to a 24:46.6 for the Dolphins.
