Rob Padgett (Men's Basketball • 1993-97)
Rob Padgett played basketball for the Eagles from 1993-97. Padgett is no stranger to hall of fame recognition as he has been inducted to the Northern Kentucky and St. Henry High School Halls of Fame.

Embry-Riddle’s career scoring leader, Padgett totaled 2,415 points in his four-year career. He also holds the top career marks in scoring average (18.2), three-point field goal percentage (.480) and free throws made (585) and ranks among the Eagles’ top 10 in field goals made (2nd, 797), field goal percentage (7th, .560), three-pointers made (5th, 236) and free throw percentage (2nd, .837).

A three-time team MVP, Padgett was named to the All-Conference team in each of the last three years of his career. In 1995-96 he became the first student-athlete in program history to earn first team All-America honors, a feat he repeated a year later when he was also selected as the conference’s Most Valuable Player.

After completing his undergraduate degree in Business Administration at Embry-Riddle in 1997, Padgett played briefly with a semi-professional club in Belgium. He participated in the Athletes in Action European tour where he conducted camps and clinics for kids and later returned to his home state of Kentucky where he served as the head coach for the Northern Kentucky AAU team for boys 11-12.

Padgett has spent the last three years as a website designer for Website Design Made Simple in Atlanta, Ga.

“Rob is truly the epitome of “The Package: Student, Person, Player.” He was an excellent student, outstanding person and a very special player. He has continued to be successful in his life after basketball as a devoted husband and father, and flourishing business owner.”

Steve Ridder
Embry-Riddle Men’s Basketball Head Coach (1990-Present)

“Robby Padgett is a fine young man who represents everything that is good with college athletics. His tremendous scoring ability and shooting touch are still talked about in the Flagler College basketball community. Robby’s outstanding play and leadership were worth the price of the ticket for any true basketball fan and as an opposing coach I have nothing but great memories of him.”

Bo Clark
Head Basketball Coach, Flagler College

“Rob truly exemplifies what it means to be an Embry-Riddle student-athlete. It is without question that Rob Padgett was one of the best players to have worn the Blue and Gold, as he still holds the career scoring record. If the game was on the line there was no one you would rather have take the last shot than Rob. He is still the “package” and continues to show what it means to be a former student-athlete of Embry-Riddle by being a great citizen of our society.”

Austin Brownlee
Embry-Riddle Men’s Basketball (1996-99)

“I can think of no finer candidate to represent the basketball program as the first inductee for this honor. Robby truly represents the excellence and values that are the foundation of what being a student-athlete encompasses. Robby’s personal values, work ethic and commitment to excellence, on and off the basketball court, defined the concept of being “The Package” and I expect will be a standard by which future inductees will be compared.”
