GREG AND TODD GUILLIAMS (Coaches • Baseball • 1992-07)
Greg and Todd Guilliams are the first coaches to be inducted into the ERAU Athletics Hall of Fame. Greg Guilliams was the Eagles' head baseball coach from 1992-2007, while Todd was an assistant baseball coach from 1992-99 and 2001-07. Todd was also Embry-Riddle's first sports information director, the school's first athletics fields manager and ERAU's first BEST program coordinator.
The Guilliams brothers took over the Eagle baseball program in the spring of 1992, inheriting a team that had won 36 games in the program's first three years, just a .321 winning percentage. The Guilliams' impact was immediately evident, as Embry-Riddle went 24-24 in their first season, which was a nine-win improvement over the previous year's mark.
In 1993, the Guilliams' led ERAU to a 34-16 record, the first 30-win season in school history. Two years later, the Eagles posted a 45-13 mark and won their first Florida Sun Conference championship, earning Greg the FSC and NAIA Region XIV Coach of the Year awards.
Embry-Riddle made its first trip to the NAIA World Series in 1999 under the direction of the Guilliams brothers, posting a 44-12-1 overall record and winning 20+ conference games for the first time in program history.
The 2002 season saw Embry-Riddle reach the 50-win plateau for the first time ever as the Guilliams' guided the Eagles to a 53-11 mark, earning Greg his third FSC & Region XIV Coach of the Year awards. Greg would go on to win the same awards in each of the next four seasons as well.
In 2005, the Guilliams' took the Eagles back to Lewiston, Idaho for their fifth trip to the NAIA World Series. The Blue and Gold advanced to the national championship game for the first time in school history, finishing as national runner-up with a 53-10 record.
During his 16-year tenure at the helm of the Eagles' baseball program, Greg won 663 games, compiling a .737 winning percentage. Greg led the Eagles to eight conference championships, six World Series appearances including three trips to the semifinals. The Blue and Gold posted three 53-win season under his direction, which still stand as the single-season program record. Greg won seven conference and region Coach of the Year awards and was the 2003 Florida Diamond Club Coach of the Year.
Todd Guilliams served as Greg's assistant coach for 15 of the 16 seasons, taking the opportunity to coach at Dallas Baptist in 2000 in between his stints at Embry-Riddle. During his 15 years at ERAU, the Eagles won 624 games and posted a .739 winning percentage.
"These two men created a dynasty at Embry-Riddle. When they took over the program it was the laughingstock of the conference. Through hard work, many dedicated hours, sweat and tears they created a baseball program that is second to none at the NAIA level.
The young men who came into the baseball program left not only better players but better men. Greg and Todd stressed the importance of hard work, team camaraderie, loyalty to the school and great citizenship."

"The Guilliams brothers' exemplary coaching skills are seen today in so many of their players that have gone on to pursue careers in coaching as well. As one of those individuals, I find myself consistently quoting these two gentlemen as I speak to my own players. It is a daily personal goal of mine to set the example instilled in me by the Guilliams brothers so many years ago."

"I regard my time at ERAU as one of the best periods of my life; much of that is due to the hard work and diligence of Coach Greg and Todd. They both are outstanding coaches and outstanding leaders. Whether it was learning to bunt properly or teaching life lessons about competition and sportsmanship, they always had a game plan. Thanks to the Guilliams, I gained a clearer understanding of the word 'respect', which to this day I apply to everything from my profession to how I care for my family."
