NCAA Division II St. Leo Volleyball Defeats ERAU 3-0

SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo University volleyball team snapped a four-match losing streak Tuesday night by defeating non-conference foe Embry-Riddle University by scores of 30-17, 30-25, 30-26. The Lions now stand 10-16 on the year, while the Eagles dropped to 23-11.

Senior outside hitter Morgan Mander of Dade City, Fla., led the way for Saint Leo on Senior Night with a game high 11 kills, a .292 attack percentage, 14 digs, two service aces and a team high 13 points. Sophomore middle blocker Shanna King of American Fork, UT had 10 kills, a .350 attack percentage, 12 points and two block assists. Freshman middle blocker Emily Frey of Mason, OH added seven kills, a team high .462 attack percentage and three block assists.

Other top performances by Saint Leo players included freshman setter Jessica Lynn of Brandon, Fla., with five kills, a .400 attack percentage, 40 assists, and six digs; and senior libero Nikki Prack of Hudson, Fla., had a team high 15 digs.

Outside hitter Janelle Marinos led the Eagles with 13 kills, a .222 attack percentage, three service aces, four digs and 16.5 points. Libero Nancy Salb had a team high 15 digs for the visitors.

Saint Leo hit .299 as a team, while holding Embry-Riddle to a .105 hitting percentage.

The Eagles conclude their regular-season schedule at Northwood on Friday, November 4?at?7 p.m., since their match?at Lynn was cancelled due to the impact of?Hurricane Wilma.??ERAU will?continue play in the postseason as the No. 3 seed at the Region XIV Championship?hosted by Flagler College Nov. 11-12.??
