No. 15 SCAD Gains First-Place in FSC With 3-1 Victory Against ERAU

SAVANNAH, Ga. - The No. 15 Savannah College of Art and Design women's volleyball team gained sole possession of first-place in the Florida Sun Conference with a 3-1 victory against Embry-Riddle University Saturday afternoon.

SCAD now 9-0 in the league and 15-6 overall gave the Eagles their first FSC loss dropping to 5-1 and 10-12 overall.

Three Bees recorded double-figures in kills paced by Frida Sigurdardottir and Heather Friend with 11 apiece, while Emily Bumby added 10. Courtney Shelton added eight kills and hit .429 to lead the SCAD attack which hit .237 for the match, while it limited ERAU to .077.

April Ebanks led the Eagles with 12 kills and hit .385 for the match. Seabreeze High School grad Rachel Ridder did all she could to thwart the Bees attack registering 21 digs.

The Eagles travel to St. Thomas on Tuesday, Oct. 10 at 7 p.m. before hosting Warner Southern and Webber International Oct. 13 & 14th at 8 and 12 p.m, respectively.
