Denny Joseph scored 22 points off the bench to help lead the No. 5 Embry-Riddle University men's basketball team to a 93-68 victory against Covenant College (Ga.) Monday evening.
Three other Embry-Riddle players posted double-figure scoring efforts including
Ryan Exter with 16,
Houston Wright 15 off the bench and
Tyler DeBord with 11 points and nine rebounds. The Eagles improve to 5-0 on the year, while Covenant drops to 1-4 despite 32 points from Jacob Skogen.
Embry-Riddle which led 48-33 at the intermission, shot an impressive 60.0 percent for the contest including 77.3 in the second half (5-for-6 from three-point land, 83.3 percent). After converting 44.8 percent from the floor in the first half, the Eagle defense buckled down in the second limiting the Scots to 33.3 percent (11-for-33).
ERAU returns to action Saturday when they host NCAA Division III Macalaster (Minn.) at 2 p.m.
