DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- Freshman
Jenn Meglic recorded 14 kills with no errors and hit. 700 for the match to help the Embry-Riddle University volleyball team post a 3-0 victory against Edward Waters College (30-10, 30-17, 30-10) Friday evening in the ICI Center.
Embry-Riddle (17-14, 11-2 FSC) had little trouble dispelling the Tigers limited them to -.091 hitting for the match and the Eagles posted a .282 hitting percentage.
Jenni Nelsen added 11 kills, while
April Ebanks and
Rebecca Heller added nine and seven kills, respectively.
The Eagles were able to rest many of their usual starters and
Kristen Hassett took advantage posting 14 assists, while starting setter
Marissa Gonzales finished with 22 assists.
Edward Waters (7-15, 0-13 FSC) was led by Temeka Thomas and Shavon Sirmones who each posted four kills.
Saturday will mark the battle of first and second-place teams when ERAU hosts Savannah College of Art and Design which has already clinched the FSC regular-season title.
