DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- The Embry-Riddle University volleyball team recorded its third-straight match victory and its first against an NCAA Divison II opponent since Nov. 3, 2002 with its 3-2 comeback victory against Florida Institute of Technology (24-30, 30-27, 21-30, 30-17, 15-12) Wednesday night at ICI Center.
"We struggled in the first two games, but we came out after the break with confidence," ERAU head coach
Joslynn Gallop said. "It was definitely a team effort and we just stuck with our motto of work beats talent unless talent works. We are very talented, but we have to keep working for every point at we showed that tonight."
The Eagles lost the first game 30-24 and fell behind 5-0 early in the second, but found a way to fight back winning the second 30-27 sparked by six kills from
Jenn Meglic who hit .357 in the game. Meglic led the Eagles with 13 kills in the match, while
Jenni Nelsen added 10 kills and 20 digs and Seabreeze High School grad
Rachel Ridder finished with 18 digs.

After dropping the third game 30-21, the Eagles regrouped once again and jumped out to a 9-1 advantage in game four and later went on a 13-3 run to lead 22-9 behind two kills apiece from
April Ebanks (finished with nine kills and four total blocks), Nelsen and
