SAVANNAH, Ga. – Embry-Riddle (Fla.) University used a 19-7 run midway through the second half to break open a tight game with the Savannah
College of Art and Design en route to the 85-68 Florida Sun Conference men's basketball victory Saturday (Feb. 10) afternoon at the Ron Love Athletic Center.

The Eagles, who have won all 11 meetings with SCAD, won their second consecutive game and improved to 21-7 overall and to 6-4 in the Florida Sun. The Bees dropped their fifth consecutive game and fell to 10-18 and 2-8. SCAD will look to rebound Monday (Feb. 12) with a 7 p.m. league contest against Webber International University in Babson Park, Fla.

The Bees, who led 37-33 at the intermission, took the lead for the last time at 57-56 with 10:11 remaining on a layup by Eze Andrews, who finished with a game-high 22 points, nine rebounds and four blocked shots. However, the Eagles couldn't miss over the next six minutes as they converted on their next seven baskets and both free throw opportunities to take a 75-63 lead on a Ryan Exter jumper with 4:35 to play. Murat Hisarkaya scored all of his 10 points for the Eagles during the decisive spurt.

The closest SCAD would get the remainder of the game was eight points at 75-67 as senior Gerard Bowden, who was playing in his final home game for the Bees, connected on an old-fashioned three-point play with 3:22 remaining. Embry-Riddle held the Bees at bay as they converted 8-of-10 free throws in the final two minutes.

Exter and Tyler DeBord led the Eagles with 19 points each while DeBord tallied nine rebounds. Denver Cobb scored 15 points while Nick Miller finished with 10. Drew Whitaker contributed eight points and a game-high five blocks. Bowden finished with 17 points and five assists for SCAD while Kevin Polit chipped in 10 points and five rebounds before fouling out.
