LEWISTON, Idaho - The fifth-ranked Embry-Riddle Eagles dropped a tough, 5-4 decision to 11th-ranked Lewis-Clark State on Tuesday afternon, falling to the Warriors via a walkoff hit. ERAU drops to 25-8 and LCSC jumps to 21-8. Game two has been postponed until Wednesday. The two teams will meet in a doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m. (PDT).

The Eagles let game one slip away after holding leads of 3-0 and 4-1, ultimately falling on a walk off single by the Warriors in the bottom of the seventh inning.

ERAU began the game like they ended Monday night's contest, pushing across an early run in the first to give Eagle starter Chad Modomo a 1-0 lead.

After two outs, Ben Kline singled to center field off of LCSC starter, Anthony Armanino, then moved to third on a fielding error by the Warriors' second baseman allowed Chris Page to reach first safely. Ian MacGeorge picked up his first hit of the series with a double to right center, scoring Kline.

Modomo looked in command through the first three innings, giving up just two hits to the Warriors while fanning two batters.
The Blue and Gold tacked on a pair of runs in the third, both coming on a JT Warmoth double to right center, plating Kline and Jeff Lemon after they both singled earlier in the inning.

LCSC scored their first run of the series in the bottom of the fourth on a sacrifice fly by Billy Silvestri, cutting the Eagles lead to 3-1.

Chris Page hit his seventh home run of the season in the top of the fifth inning, a solo shot off the scoreboard in right field, pushing the Eagle advantage back to three runs at 4-1.

The Warriors got back in the game during their half of the fifth, plating two unearned runs to cut the lead to 4-3. With two outs and a runner at first, Kyle Knigge singled to left field before Trent Bridges reached on an Eagle error, allowing one Warrior run to touch home. Alnfonso Casillas singled down the left field line to bring in one more run, but Modomo was able to end the rally with a groundout from Cody Garner.

Armanino faced the minimum three Eagle batters in the sixth, and the Warriors knotted things up in the bottom of the frame. Modomo loaded the bases with two outs and was relieved by David Lidyard. Lidyard hit Knigge with his 2-2 pitch, tying the game as Zach Holley scored from third.

Embry-Riddle was unable to reach base in the seventh, and Casillas led off the bottom of the seventh with a double to left field. A single from Garner moved the runner to third, and Silvestri ended the game with a single up the middle, giving LCSC the 5-4 victory.

Modomo got a no decision, pitching 5.2 innings, giving up four runs (two earned) on eight hits while striking out three. Lidyard (4-1) was given the loss for the Eagles.

Warmoth was 1-for-3 with two RBIs, while Kline finished 2-for-3 with a pair of runs scored.
