ST. LOUIS, Mo. – For the fourth year in a row, the Embry-Riddle Sports Information Department took home the Gary Spitler Award for Excellence in Publications. The announcement was made at the 2012 National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics - Sports Information Directors Association (NAIA-SIDA) luncheon at the William L. Clay Sr. Early Childhood Development/Parenting Education Center on the campus of Harris-Stowe State University (Mo.) in St. Louis on Saturday. The award, which is NAIA-SIDA's top honor, is given annually to the Sports Information Office that accumulates the most total points among all the publications contests in the NAIA.

Ryan Mosher and Austin Quinn grabbed first-place awards for men's soccer, women's soccer, men's basketball and baseball and a second-place finish in volleyball. In the multi-sport category, ERAU claimed the second through fifth spots as tennis was second, cross country was third, track and field was fourth and golf was fifth.
In addition to the publication finishes, the Eagles also garnered Best Cover honors for track and field, designed by Quinn and baseball, which was designed by Mosher.
