ORLANDO, Fla. – For the sixth year in a row, the Embry-Riddle Sports Information Department took home the Gary Spitler Award for Excellence in Publications. The announcement was made at the 2014 National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics - Sports Information Directors Association (NAIA-SIDA) Ike Pearson Awards dinner at the Orange Tree Country Club in Orlando, Florida. The award, which is NAIA-SIDA's top honor, is given annually to the Sports Information Office that accumulates the most total points among all the publications contests in the NAIA.

Alison Smalling, the team of
Ryan Mosher,
Michael Pierce and Brianne Wigley grabbed first-place awards for baseball, volleyball and men's basketball, a second-place finish in golf and a third-place award for tennis. The men's soccer media guide placed fourth while the women's soccer and track and field media guides each earned fifth-place finishes.
The Embry-Riddle Sports Information Department has now won a total of 37 awards, the most in NAIA-SIDA history.
