Vincent Bett placed seventh overall in Louisville
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Junior Vincent Bett clocked a 25:41.48 to lead the Embry-Riddle men's cross country to a second place finish among non-NCAA Division I schools in the Blue Division of the Greater Louisville Classic, Saturday at E.P. Tom Sawyer Park. Bett was seventh out of 289 runners as the Eagles scored 134 points to finish in the No. 3 spot overall.

The Eagles had the opportunity to see how they matched up against other national ranked NAIA teams. The Eagles finished second to NAIA No. 22 Emmanuel (2:09:55.53) in the Blue Division, but the Eagles' team time of 2:11:48.87 was better than that of NAIA No. 6 Bryan, who finished ninth among non-NCAA Division I teams in the Gold group with a 2:12:14.47.

Freshman Paul McKenna posted his second fastest time of the year, crossing in 25:46.59 to take ninth overall. Zach Krause was 25th in 26:18.41 and Alec Hernandez (26:32.67) and Jacob Dordick (27:29.72) rounded out the Eagles' scoring.

"In general it was encouraging to see how we stacked up against some of the other teams in the country," ERAU Head Coach Mike Rosolino stated. "With some work we have the possibility of achieving the goal of being one of the top 10 teams in the country."

The Eagles' next race is slated for Friday, Oct. 11 in Tallahassee, Fla. at a meet being hosted by Florida State.
