DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The sixth-ranked Embry-Riddle women's tennis team rebounded from a tough loss with a decisive 8-1 win against 11th-ranked Oklahoma Baptist, Wednesday at the Crotty Tennis Complex. The Eagles are now 6-4 on the year and will host Northwestern Ohio at 3:30 p.m. on March 25.

ERAU grabbed the first point of the day when the third flight doubles team of Paula Ortiz Couder and Eva Vilar downed Alex Morales and Kathryn Sild 8-4. Anna Götz and Paola Montero followed with an 8-6 win over Ashlyn Abbe and Olivia Charvat at the second doubles position to put the Blue and Gold up 2-0.

The contest at No. 1 doubles between top-ranked Hui-I Huang and Kristina Marova and fifth-ranked Anastasia Baranova and Kateryn Shkot was a rematch of a first-round contest at the 2013 ITA/NAIA National Championships, where the Eagle pair upended the third-seeded OBU duo. Wednesday's meeting saw both sides hold serve through the first 14 games. Trailing 7-6, Huang and Marova held serve and then registered the only break of the contest to go up 8-7. With Huang serving, the Eagles won the next game to take the match 9-7 and give the Eagles a 3-0 cushion heading into singles.

Montero recorded the first singles point by easily dispatching Morales 6-0, 6-0 on court five. The clincher came for the Blue and Gold with Marova's 6-0, 6-1 decision against Abbe at the No. 3 spot, followed closely by Vilar's 6-4, 6-2 win over Charvat at No. 4.

The Bison got their only point of the day when ninth-ranked Baranova held off 17th-ranked Huang 7-6 (9-7), 6-2 at the top spot. Meena Bennett downed Slid 6-3, 6-1 on court six and 20th-ranked Götz closed out the afternoon with a 6-4, 6-7 (1-7), 10-7 upset of 14th-ranked Shkot at the second position.
