Eagle Harriers Set for Five Regular Season Meets in 2014

| By:
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Embry-Riddle Head Men's and Women's Cross Country Coach Mike Rosolino has announced the 2014 regular season schedule for the Eagles, and the two teams will compete in five meets during the fall slate.

Kicking things off for the Blue and Gold will be the USF Invitational on Sept. 5. Last year, the Eagle men won the non-NCAA I race, while the women placed third.

For the sixth year in a row, coach Rosolino will take his teams to the Mountain Dew Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 20. The University of Florida hosted 15 men's and 11 women's non-NCAA I squads last season, with the men winning and the women finishing sixth.

The Embry-Riddle campus will be featured on Saturday, Sept. 27 for the Asics Embry-Riddle Classic, the only home meet for the Eagles. The men have won the event for seven consecutive years, while the women have finished first in six of the last seven seasons after placing second last year.

The Florida State Seminoles will welcome cross country teams on Friday, Oct. 10 for the Seminole Invitational. This will be the third straight season that ERAU competes in Tallahassee; the men placed fifth among non-NCAA I schools last year, while the women came in seventh.

The final regular season meet of the 2014 schedule for ERAU is the Sand Shark Invite on Saturday, Oct. 25 in Beaufort, South Carolina In last year's event, the Blue and Gold performed well, with both squads taking third in a race that included 21 men's teams and 24 women's teams.

The 2014 edition of The Sun Conference Championships will take place on Saturday, Nov. 8, and will be hosted by TSC member Northwood. The Eagle men will be looking to capture a 10th-consecutive conference title, while the women will look to return to the top after finishing second to SCAD Savannah last year, ending a seven-year streak of conference championships for ERAU.

Saturday, Nov. 22 is the date in place for the 2014 NAIA National Championships, and for the second year in a row, will be held in Lawrence, Kansas. The Eagles hope to return to the National Championships for the 10th (men) and eighth (women) times in program history.
