Men's Cross Country Wins Eighth Consecutive Embry-Riddle ASICS Classic

| By:
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Embry-Riddle hosted the 12th Annual Embry-Riddle ASICS Classic Saturday morning, and for the eighth consecutive year the ERAU men's cross country team came out as the winner of the event.

The tenth ranked Eagles have now finished first in each of their first three meets of the 2014 season.

Eagle harriers claimed seven of the top ten spots individually, led by senior Alec Hernandez who followed up a strong performance at last week's Mountain Dew Invitational by winning Saturday's meet with a time of 26:06.21.  The other members of the Blue and Gold who contributed to the top ten finish were Paul McKenna (26:10.01), Jamin Mays (26:48.01), Ryan Larson (26:54.84), and Matt Graves (27:08.04).

Jacob Dordick (27:11.86) and Keneth J Pineiro-Collazo (27:42.52) also finished in the top 10.  The rest of the Eagle competitors included Adam Lawrence (28:11.60), Palmer Lintz (28:30.14), James Fell (28:55.41), Dalton L'Heureux (30:49.35), Paul Meesala (31:35.57), and Andrew Carosi (31:37.49).

ERAU scored 18 points, eight less than at last year's ASICS Classic, to secure its third consecutive first place finish.  NCAA I Seton Hall (73) finished second, followed by Florida Tech (101), Stetson (139), and Truett-McConenell (143) to make up the rest of the top five.

The Eagle men will look to continue their winning ways next weekend when they travel across the country to Oregon to compete in the 40th Annual Charles Bowles Willamette Invitational.
