Hogan's Career Night Lifts @ERAUMBasketball Past Palm Beach Atlantic, 103-85

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The Embry-Riddle men's basketball team put on an offensive clinic on Friday night in the ICI Center, blitzing past visiting Palm Beach Atlantic, 103-85 behind a three-point barrage and one of the single best individual performances in program history from Skyler Hogan. The Eagles (5-4) connected on 19 three-pointers and shot 54 percent from the field for the game, while Hogan scored the second-most points in a game in program history with 38 as the Blue and Gold got its first win against Sunshine State Conference opposition against the Sailfish (5-4, 2-2).

Hogan fell just one point shy of Sean Hester's school-record of 39 (Nova Southeastern - Feb. 19, 1993), and also nearly had a triple-double, grabbing eight rebounds and dishing out eight assists. Hogan's eight triples were also the second-most ever made by an Eagle, but he was far from the only Eagle with an impressive stat line as Dillon Graham scored a season-high 18 points on 6-of-9 shooting from the floor and Shaquan McArthur added 13 points, seven rebounds, four assists, four steals and two blocks.

The Eagles shot a blistering 61 percent in the first half, including 12-of-21 from beyond the arc as the host team took a 58-39 lead into the break. Graham opened the scoring with a three-pointer, but the Sailfish managed to stay with ERAU through the first six minutes, getting to within four at 20-16. However, the Eagles would go on a 12-0 run to double-up the visitors at 32-16 and the Sailfish would never get closer than 10 the rest of the night.

Leading 36-25 Embry-Riddle got back-to-back threes from Hogan and Graham before Bradley Mapes made good on a long range shot while being fouled, and the Eagles briefly stretched their lead to 21 when Graham hit a trey with a minute left in the half, but a PBA jumper with 35 seconds to go accounted for the halftime score of 58-39.

Hogan tied his previous career-high with 23 points in the first half while Graham added 12 and McArthur chipped in 10. Grant Gullett was the only Sailfish player in double-digits with 11 points.

Embry-Riddle came out of the break continuing to fire on all cylinders, growing the lead to 26 on an and-one layup from Graham at the 16:12 mark and the Blue and Gold kept its foot on the gas pedal for most of the second period, going up by as many as 31 on a Hogan jumper that made the score 100-69 with 4:53 left in the game.

Both coaches went to their benches for the final four minutes and the Sailfish were able to get the deficit under 20, ending the game on a 16-3 run, but the outcome had been decided far earlier in the night.

The Eagles finished the night with 31 assists, a season high, while blocking eight PBA shots and registering 10 steals. PBA had a huge advantage at the free throw line, shooting 25-for-35 there, as the Eagles went 8-for-16 at the charity stripe.

The Eagles will travel to Puerto Rico next weekend for a pair of games in Guaynabo, starting with a contest versus American (P.R.) on Friday at 4 p.m., followed by a 1 p.m. tip against Central Bayamon (P.R.).
