@ERAUBaseball Falls to Flagler, 8-4

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Embry-Riddle baseball team had a 2-0 lead after three innings on Wednesday night, but the visiting Flagler Saints rallied for an 8-4 come-from-behind victory. With the loss, ERAU falls to 5-3 on the season, while FC improves to 2-4.
 
Liam Goodall went 2-for-5 at the plate with a double and two RBIs while Joshua Garcia was 1-for-3 with a pair of RBIs and Tobias Moreno was 1-for-4 with two runs scored.
 
Troy Naab took the loss in his first career start, allowing five runs (four earned) in 3.1 innings of work on six hits and two walks with a pair of strikeouts. Kyle Miller pitched an effective 3.2 innings of relief, allowing just two unearned runs.
 
The Blue and Gold struck first as Garcia delivered a two-out RBI single in the bottom of the first to score Enderson Velasquez with the game's first run.
 
ERAU tacked on another run in the third as Garcia was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, scoring Moreno to make it 2-0 Eagles.
 
The Saints got the bats going in the top of the fourth, sending nine men to the plate and scoring five runs to take the lead, 5-2.
 
Flagler added two more runs in the sixth and another in the eighth to increase its lead to 8-2 heading to the final inning.
 
The Eagles got two runs back in the ninth on a two-run double from Goodall scoring Moreno and Joey Swinarski, but that was the final scoring for ERAU as Flagler held on for an 8-4 win.
 
ERAU will hit the road for the first time in 2016 as the Eagles will travel to Jacksonville for a three-game series at Trinity Baptist this weekend. Friday night's game is set for a 7 p.m. first pitch while Saturday's doubleheader will begin at 2 p.m.
