@ERAUMBasketball Returns to the Win Column with 83-64 Victory Over Florida Southern

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Four players scored in double-figures as the Embry-Riddle men's basketball team pulled away late for an 83-64 win over Florida Southern on Wednesday night inside the ICI Center. ERAU now stands at 10-6 on the year while the Mocs fall to 7-11.

Skyler Hogan led the Eagles with 17 points to go along with 10 rebounds, while Shaquan McArthur added 16 points and 11 rebounds. Luka Majstorovic also scored 16 points and Brian Johnson chipped in 14 points on 4-of-5 shooting off the bench.

Florida Southern got off to a quick start, scoring the first 10 points of the contest. The Eagles finally got on the board at the 14:18 mark of the first half, and by the midway point of the period the deficit was down to five points (18-13). The Mocs scored five straight to regain a double-digit lead (23-13) but the Blue and Gold bounced back to pull within five once again (24-19) with 5:32 remaining in the half. Embry-Riddle finally drew even at 30-30 with 2:11 to go before halftime and the Eagles scored the final five points of the half to take a 35-32 lead into the break.

The opening stages of the second half were back-and-forth with both teams trading slim leads for the first five minutes of the period. Dillon Graham put the Eagles ahead 45-44 with a layup at the 15:04 mark and ERAU would not trail from that point on. Although FSC tied the game three more times, Embry-Riddle never fell behind in the final 15 minutes of play, and the Blue and Gold took the lead for good on a Johnson triple with 12:20 on the clock. An 8-0 run capped by a Hogan three with 4:04 to play pushed the lead to 15 (75-60), putting the game out of reach as the Eagles cruised to a 19-point victory, 83-64.

The Eagles are back at home on Saturday, Jan. 21 when they host Saint Leo at 7 p.m. as part of another doubleheader with the women's team.
