@ERAUMBasketball Blows Out Rollins to Complete Perfect Road Swing

WINTER PARK, Fla. - It had been 23 years since the Embry-Riddle Eagles had last beaten the Rollins Tars, and on Wednesday night, the Blue and Gold delivered one of its best performances in 2016-17 to blow out Rollins, 97-78, completing a perfect three-for-three road trip with wins over Eckerd, Lynn and Rollins.

The Eagles (13-7) shot 58 percent, led by Skyler Hogan and Luka Majstorovic as ERAU took an 11-point lead into halftime and then opened it up to as many as a 29-point cushion late in the game as ERAU avenged an earlier season loss to the Tars (13-9) in impressive fashion.

Rollins enjoyed a 5-2 lead 90 seconds into the contest, but the visitors went on a 10-3 run over the next two minutes to, capped by a Majstorovic layup off a Dalton Barnes assist as ERAU took a 12-8 lead with just under 16 minutes to play in the first.

Majstorovic, who went a perfect 5-for-5 from the field in the first half, dominated Rollins inside, and Hogan, who went 5-for-6 in the opening period, did the damage from outside, connecting on three triples en route to 15 first-half points.

The Eagles controlled the opening half with a two or more possession lead for much of the period, and midway through the half, ERAU went on an 8-0 run, all the points coming from Majstorovic and Hogan, growing the cushion to 31-22.

The Eagles continued to hold a comfortable lead for the rest of the first half, and a Dillon Graham jumper with 27 seconds left came before a solid defensive stop by the Eagles as Embry-Riddle took a 42-31 lead into halftime.

Coming out of the break, it was the Eagles who played like they were trailing, scoring the first seven points of the half, capped by a Shaquan McArthur fastbreak layup and-one after a Barnes steal as the Blue and Gold grew its advantage to 49-31 in the first two minutes of the second half.

The Tars never threatened in the second half as the Eagles answered nearly every basket with one of their own, pushing the lead to 25 at the 13-minute mark and then to 29 with five minutes to play before both team's benches finished the game out.

Hogan finished with a game-high 29 points on 10-for-13 shooting, including a perfect 7-for-7 effort from long range. Hogan finished the road trip averaging nearly 26 points over the three Eagle wins. Hogan also earned team-high honors with nine rebounds.

Majstorovic went for 18 points and seven rebounds, going 7-of-8 from the field, while Dillon Graham scored 17 points, 11 coming in the second half, and McArthur ended with 10 points, seven boards and seven assists, as well as four steals. Barnes dished out nine assists for the Eagles, also grabbing six rebounds and recording three steals.

ERAU returns to Daytona Beach and will host Tampa on Saturday, Feb. 4 at 7 p.m.
