PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. - The Embry-Riddle women's golf team concluded play at the 2018 Shark Invitational on Tuesday with their third and final round at PGA National Golf Club. The Eagles fielded two teams in the event, with the Embry-Riddle 'A' team shooting it's best round of the tournament on Tuesday to move up to ninth overall, while the Embry-Riddle 'B' team finished just one stroke behind in 10th place.

The Eagles' best round of the day came from Lauren Thielen who shot a 78 to finished with a 242 (82-82-78), pacing the ERAU 'A' team. It was freshman Olivia Whitten who took low honors for the tournament across both Eagle squads, finishing with a 239 (82-77-79) to finish 34th overall and leading the way for ERAU's 'B' team.

Three on the 'A' team roster posted their best round of the tournament on Tuesday, including Thielen, Megan Pollenz (83-82-81=246) and Kelly Harris (84-89-81=254), and Natalie Brooks' 76 in round one stood as the best round of any Eagle in the 11-team field. Brooks finished with a 244 (76-86-82) for the tournament.

For the 'B' team, following Whitten's 239 was Catherine Yaun (81-90-79=250) who matched Whitten's 79 final round, and Camilla Sierra (84-85-82=251) who both shot tournament-best scores on their final day. Kristen Holman (81-79-95=255) and Lovisa Clausen (95-80-96=271) also competed for the Blue and Gold.

"We had a special opportunity to compete two teams in this tournament," Head Coach Maria Lopez said. "We gained valuable experience and growth points. Our depth really expanded and I am excited to see this get us to the next level of our potential. We had some special team bonding and lots of personal records and comebacks...it was an honor to see it."

The 'A' team's 322 in the final round put them at 984 (325-337-322) for the tournament, while the Eagle 'B' team went 329-321-335=985. Host Nova Southeastern won the event with an 894 (290-311-293), while Florida Southern (312-299-295=906) , Barry (310-301-300=911), Tampa (311-309-307=927) and Keiser (318-310-300=928) rounded out the top-five.

Embry-Riddle will wrap up its fall schedule at the Flagler Fall Slam from Oct. 22-23 at Marsh Creek in St. Augustine.
