WINDERMERE, Fla. – The Embry-Riddle women's golf team fired a 319 on Tuesday to wrap up the Peggy Kirk Bell Invitational in 15th place, with a 54-hole total of 958 (326-313-319). The Blue and Gold maintained its position after day one of the tournament, which was hosted by Rollins at The Golden Bear Club at Keene's Pointe in Windermere.
Lauren Thielen was the top finisher for the Eagles, finishing tied for 47th with a 232 (76-77-79), while
Daniela Pena had the low round of the day for ERAU with a 78, finished the tournament with a 238 (79-81-78).
Megan Pollenz carded an 80 to finish at 239 (84-75-80),
Natalie Brooks posted an 82 to end up with a 249 (87-80-82), and
Kelly Harris concluded the tournament with a 256 (87-82-87). Playing as an individual,
Erika Shellenberger shot a 79 on Tuesday to finish with a 236 (77-80-79).
Nova Southeastern won the tournament with an 865 (290-288-287), finishing one stroke ahead of Dallas Baptist (290-288-288=866). Lynn took third with an 874 (301-290-283). DBU's Evelyn Arguelles was the individual medalist, finishing with a six-under 210 (72-68-70). NSU's Jamie Freedman (73-67-72) and Lynn's Jenny Ayala (74-70-68) tied for second with four-under 212s.
The Eagles are back in action next week as they host the annual Eagle Invitational at LPGA International Golf Club March 12-13.
