ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – Sabrina Ehrenfort and
Georgina Wood both earned wins in singles for the Embry-Riddle (6-13, 1-8) women's tennis team, but is was Flagler (9-9, 5-2) that won the match 7-2 at the Flagler Tennis Center in a non-conference dual on Wednesday.
The Eagles were swept in doubles matches to start the day.
Maria Turrillo and
Kathryn Bock lost the No. 1 match 8-5, while
Georgina Wood and Roberta Krvajica fell 8-1 in their doubles match. Then, Sabrina Ehrenfort and
Lydia Carter went down 8-6 to complete the sweep.
In singles play, Turrillo fell in straight sets to No. 22 ranked Lizanne Jinkertz 6-0, 6-1. Wood won in straight sets against Camila Ramazzini, winning 6-2, 6-2. Ehrenfort picked up the only other Eagle point with her 7-5, 5-7, 1-0 (10-7) win in the No. 4 spot.
Embry-Riddle plays its final match of the year on the road against Sunshine State Conference foe, Palm Beach Atlantic on April, 15 at 1 p.m.
