BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Embry-Riddle women's golf team posted its best round of the Sunshine State Conference Championship on Tuesday, firing a 312 in the final round of the event to finish 10th. The Eagles improved after each round, finishing the tournament with a 328-325-312.

Marlena Weatherly was top finisher for the tournament, tying for 39th with a 238 (79-80-79), while
Megan Pollenz had the low round on Tuesday with a 76 to move up to 42nd with a 54-hole total of 241 (84-81-76).
Kelly Harris finished one stroke behind Pollenz with a 242 (79-85-78), while
Daniela Pena (86-85-79) and
Lauren Thielen (86-79-85) each finished with 250s.

"We got stronger every day and closed out our first conference championship appearance with true grit," Head Coach
Maria Lopez said. "We had multiple players in the 70s, overcoming tremendous adversity and growing in their strength. There are great things in store for this program."

Nova Southeastern won the championship, firing a two-under 286 on Tuesday to finish with a 17-over 881 (297-298-286), five shots clear of second-place Barry (300-297-289=886). Lynn came in third with an 892 (302-301-289).

NSU's Michelle Ruiz was the individual champion, shooting a one-under 71 on Tuesday to close out the tournament at six-under (68-71-71=210). Barry's Tilda Larsson shot five-under in the final round but still finished five strokes back at one-under (75-73-67=215). Lynn's Krissy Ortiz was third with a 220 (77-73-70).
