TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Just pencil the Embry-Riddle men's cross country team in for another non-NCAA I meet crown. Actually, go ahead and use a pen. For the 14th time in their last 16 regular season races, the Eagles were the top non-D1 finisher, this time at the FSU Invitational, hosted by Florida State. The Eagles placed fourth overall in their final regular season race of 2019, putting three runners in the top 15 en route to topping six NCAA I squads and 10 other programs on Friday morning at Apalachee Regional Park.
For the second straight week
Calahan Warren paced the Blue and Gold, finishing ninth overall in 25:04.9, the fourth sub-25:05 time in his collegiate career and the 13th top-10 finish for the senior.
Shaun Bullock ran the fastest time of his Eagle career to finish 13th overall in 25:11.7, right in front of teammate
Ryan Szklany in 14th with a time of 25:13.3. Bullock breaks into the top-10 on ERAU's fastest 8K runners list.
Brian Cheluget (69th - 26:41.4) and
Tanner Rosolino (80th - 26:58.7) rounded out the Embry-Riddle scorers, with
Josh Collins (82nd - 27:04.7) and
Austin Epstein (89th - 27:15.8) close behind, both running the second-fastest times of their collegiate careers.
Also running for ERAU were
John Dennehy (104th - 27:40.9),
Shane Brownrigg (113th - 28:01.8) and
Drew Hart (114th - 28:04.7). Both Brownrigg and Hart posted their best 8K times.
Justin Nauman (130th - 28:37.6),
Jacob Webster (132nd - 28:42.4),
Charles Hruda (161st - 30:06.1) and
Bryce Walker (185th - 32:36.4) also competed for the Eagles.
ERAU compiled 142 points, sitting behind only Florida (34), North Florida (37) and Stetson (111) in the team standings.
"The guys had a strong race today, especially the our top three," Head Coach
Mike Rosolino said. "It was a good final tune-up for the post-season. We are progressing each week and will need to continue that trend to be where we want to be in two and four weeks."
Embry-Riddle will now turn its attention to the postseason, starting on Oct. 26 at the Sunshine State Conference Championships in Boca Raton.
