LAKELAND, Fla. – The Embry-Riddle men's cross country team competed at the NCAA II South Region Championship on Saturday morning at the 10K course at Holloway Park, hosted by Florida Southern. The Eagles placed fourth out of the 21 schools competing.
ERAU finished with a total score of 128, a full 100 points ahead of fifth-place Mississippi College (228). Alabama-Huntsville won the meet with a total score of 52 followed by Lee (77) and Saint Leo (95). Mathew Chesum of Benedict won the event with a time of 31:48.83, followed by West Alabama's Jakob Bernal in 32:21.06.
Shaun Bullock was the top finisher for the Blue and Gold as he finished ninth with a time of 32:33.84.
Ryan Szklany was close behind in 11th with a time of 32:39.50, followed by
Calahan Warren in 18th, clocking a 32:51.35.
Brian Cheluget was 37th in 34:01.88, followed by
Josh Collins in 55th (34:26.21),
Tanner Rosolino in 60th (34:36.86), and
Austin Epstein in 73rd (35:00.60).
The Eagles will now await the results of the rest of the regionals, which are scheduled to take place throughout the day, to find out if they will be selected as an at-large team, or if any individuals receive at-large bids to the national meet.
