NEW ORLEANS, Fla. - A banner year for the Embry-Riddle men's and women's cross country programs continued on Thursday as both teams and nine individuals (five women and four men) were named to the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Academic honor roll. Head Coach
Mike Rosolino led his teams to the NCAA II South Region title and to an appearance at the NCAA II National Championship in the fall, while both squads earned the required 3.0 team GPA and scored points at the regional championship to earn USTFCCCA Scholar Team distinction.
On the women's side,
Sarah Edens (Civil Engineering),
Kara Funke (Human Factors Psychology),
Josie Gray (Civil Engineering),
Mikaela Hakamaa (Mechanical Engineering and
Alex Orr (Master's in Aeronautics) were named to the USTFCCCA All-Academic team, achieving at least a 3.25 cumulative GPA and finished among the top-30 percent of eligible runners at the NCAA II South Region meet.
For the men,
Garrett Noltemeyer (Air Traffic Management),
Ryan Szklany (Civil Engineering),
Lelei Too (Aerospace Physiology) and
Calahan Warren (Aerospace Physiology) also earned All-Academic team honors.
