Alexis Marshall 6-2 at the second spot. The Eagles' top flight duo of
Itxaso Blanco and
Jillian Hobbs pulled the Eagles level with their 6-4 win over Selin Devrimci and Lorena Rionda. At the third doubles position, the ERAU tandem of
Roberta Krvajica and
Mafalda Soares fell behind a break, 4-3, but registered a break of their own to overtake Gabby Hesse and Lola Asis 5-4. After each side held on their next two service games to force a tiebreaker, the FSC pair scored the first three points on the way to a 7-3 win to secure the doubles point for the Lady Mocs.
Hesse was the first to register a singles point for FSC as she topped Soares 6-4, 6-2 on court six. No. 23 Devrimci followed with a 7-6 (2), 6-1 win over Blanco at the top spot, and Rionda rallied from a 6-0 defeat in the first set to top Krvajica 6-0, 6-2 in the second and third frames, respectively, to score the clincher for the Lady Mocs.
The Eagles' lone singles point of the afternoon came at the third position where Wood bested No. 42 Stepnik 6-4, 6-4.
The Eagles return to the courts at 1 p.m. on Saturday to host Tampa in another SSC match.
