Final Results
DADE CITY, Fla. - The Embry-Riddle women's golf team wrapped up the 2018-19 season on Tuesday afternoon at the Sunshine State Conference Championships. The Eagles shot a final-round 319 for a three-day final 961 (327-315-319) to finish 10th at Lake Jovita Golf Club.
After 24 rounds of golf in 2018-19, the Eagles finished with a 314.5 stroke average on the season, finishing just 1.2 strokes behind the program record of 313.3 (2009-10). The Blue and Gold posted three of the top-10 lowest single rounds in program history this season as well as two of the lowest 54-hole scores in school history.
Camila Sierra (77-77-74=228) highlighted the Eagle efforts at the SSC Championship, posting the eighth-best 54-hole tournament score in program history. Sierra, a junior, now owns three of the top-10 54-hole scores in Eagle history, all coming during this spring season.
Senior
Megan Pollenz ended her collegiate career with a 240 (82-79=79) for the Eagles. Pollenz led the team this season with a 78.2 average, the seventh-best single-season stroke average in career history, while pushing her career average down to 79.9, marking the fifth-best career mark in program history.
Kelly Harris (84-76-83=243) finished third on the Eagle team, with freshman
Olivia Whitten (84-83-86=253) coming in fourth.
Natalie Brooks (90-87-83=260) also competed for ERAU.
"We had an amazing season," Head Coach
Maria Lopez said. "We had our highest placed individual at the SSC Championship in Camila, we had ouw lowest spring average ever, and our best-ever score at the conference championship. The future looks very bright!"
Eighth-ranked Lynn won the 11-team event with an 884 (298=291-295), one shot better than top-ranked Barry (299-290-296=885). Nova Southeastern (295-298-294=887), Tampa (300-291-299=890) and Rollins (310-297-297=904) rounded out the top 10.
