HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Embry-Riddle women's lacrosse team trounced Coker on Wednesday by a score of 26-6. Eleven different Eagles scored a goal in the contest, led by six-point performances from
Elizabeth Ninesling and
Mya Watson. The victory pushed ERAU's record to 2-1, while the Cobras dropped to 0-2.
Ninesling set a career-high with six goals and added an assist to tie the program single-game record with seven points. She also grabbed a game-high seven draw controls, while Watson registered four goals and two assists.
Devyn Taht scored a career-high four goals and chipped in an assist and
Ericka Kimble tied her career-best with three goals.
McKenzie Jackson racked up two goals, three assists, and five draw controls, and
Ellie Dailey contributed a goal, three assists, and five draw controls.
Skylar Mossop (1-0) earned the win, making one save and collecting two ground balls, while
Mary Catherine Kreider made two saves in 30 minutes of work in goal.
The Blue and Gold didn't take long to jump out in front as Kreider hit the back of the net for the first time in her career just 32 seconds into the contest. Watson and Ninesling scored goals 18 seconds apart to make it 3-0 less than three minutes into the game. After Coker scored its first goal, ERAU rattled off five straight goals, including two apiece from Taht and Kimble. The Eagles also scored the final five goals of the half to extend their lead to 16-4 at the break.
Embry-Riddle's offense continued to click in the second half, scoring the first seven goals of the period to extend the lead to 23-4. Taht tallied her fourth goal of the day to make it 24-5 and
Kristina Longo and
Paige Jones put home the final two goals of the day, giving the Eagles a 26-6 win.
The Eagles will open the home portion of the 2020 schedule on Sunday, March 1, when they host Wingate at 5 p.m.
