DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Embry-Riddle women's tennis team extended its winning streak to six matches with a 7-0 win against Daemen at the Crotty Tennis Complex on Monday. Their fifth shutout of the season moves the Eagles' record to 8-1, while the Wildcats fall to 1-11.

The Eagles dominated the Wildcats in doubles play registering shutout wins on all three courts.
It took just 15 minutes for the Eagles to earn their first point as Georgina Wood and Roberta Krvajica blanked Erica Jasinski and Emily Clough 6-0 on court two. Itxaso Blanco and Alexis Marshall downed Lena Gruber and Christina Stasiuk at the top spot and Julia Mautner and Sabrina Ehrenfort defeated Courtney Otis and Mackenzie Schayes at No. 3 doubles.

Singles play saw the Blue and Gold surrender a combined three games in the matches at the No. 3 through No. 6 spots. Mafalda Soares was the first to record a singles point for the Eagles as she downed Clough 6-0, 6-1 at the No. 4 spot. After Jillian Hobbs blanked Schayes in her first dual match of the year, Mautner clinched the Eagle victory with her 6-1, 6-0 defeat of Jasinski at the third position.

The Eagles' next two points came from Maria Secatore, who beat Otis 6-0, 6-1 at No. 5, and Marshall who topped Stasiuk 6-1, 6-2 at No. 2.

The last match off the court was the closest of the day and in the end, Blanco held off Gruber 6-4, 6-3 on court one to secure the shutout.

The Eagles' next match will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday when they play a neutral site match against Augustana in Sanford.
