DAYTONA BEACH, Florida - The Embry-Riddle men's cross country team opened the 2020-21 season in dominant fashion on Saturday, blowing past Florida Tech in a dual meet on the ERAU cross country course. The top nine finishers wore Blue and Gold as
Ryan Szklany claimed the individual title.
The Eagles went 1-9, with a spread of just 69 seconds between race winner
Ryan Szklany (26:09) and the final Eagle scorer in fifth,
Tanner Rosolino (27:18). Newcomer's Bartosz Kwiecinski (26:27) and
Micah Blair (26:36) finished second and third, with 2019 NCAA individual qualifier
Shaun Bullock in fourth in 27:04.
Following Rosolino's fifth-place finish was
Ryan Musil (27:32),
Brendon Shea (27:42),
Garrett Noltemeyer (28:01) and
Paris Williams (28:13) in sixth through ninth.
Austin Epstein (28:26),
Justin Nauman (28:35),
Josh Collins (28:54) and
Jacob D'Aleo (29:25) all finished in front of Florida Tech's second-place runner, with
Josh Beam (30:03) and
Justin Brown (30:31) also competing for the Blue and Gold.
'I was impressed with the way our men ran today," Head Coach
Mike Rosolino said. "We showed our depth and for the first race of the year it was a good result. Our newcomers were good today."
The Eagles will travel to Lakeland on Feb. 13 for the Sunshine State Conference Pre-Conference Meet at Holloway Park.
