DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Embry-Riddle women's tennis team suffered a 7-0 loss to third-ranked Lynn in the Eagles' regular season home finale at the Crotty Tennis Complex on Tuesday.
 
Lynn earned the doubles point with wins at the top two spots. The Eagles avoided the doubles sweep when Sabrina Ehrenfort and Julia Mautner teamed up for a 6-4 win over Karyna Bihel and Barbora Cibakova.
 
In singles play, Giorgia Pigato and Cibakova earned wins at the fifth and sixth positions, respectively. Bihel recorded the clinching point by topping Roberta Krvajica 7-5, 6-2 on court two.
 
Ehrenfort and Mautner were the last two Eagle players to finish their singles matches and both players had to play extra tennis to decide their respective matches. Playing at the fifth spot, Mautner lost a close first set to Pigato 7-6 (4), but stormed back to take the second 6-1. In the 10-point tiebreaker, Pigato was able to hold off Mautner 10-7 to win the match.
 
In the final match off the court, Ehrenfort won her first set 6-3, but Liga had the better of a 7-6 (8-6) second set and went on the win the tiebreaker 10-6.
 
Lynn improved to 5-2 on the year and 5-2 in the Sunshine State Conference, while the Eagles moved to3-5 overall and 3-5 in league play. ERAU will play its final regular season match at Saint Leo on Saturday. Match time is slated for noon.
