DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The second ranked Embry-Riddle women's soccer team earned another draw of the 2022 season on Saturday with a 0-0 tie against Nova at the Embry-Riddle Soccer Stadium. With the draw, the Eagles move to 7-0-3 overall and 2-0-3 in the Sunshine State Conference while the Sharks move to 5-1-2 overall and 3-1-1 in league play.
The Sharks dictated the pace of the game in early minutes of the match, and the tempo was high. However, the Eagles fought hard to gain possession and get the ball moving. The first half showed 10 shots by the Sharks and six from the Eagles. By the end of the half, the Blue & Gold tested Sharks' netminder Goldfine who was forced to make four saves, while Eagle netminder Jokinen only had to make two.
The battle for the win continued in the second half. With 16 minutes remaining,Â
Marie Myhrvold Seim struck through the ball at Shark netminder Goldfine. Her shot rattled the post and rebounded to her again, her second shot wide of the net. As final chances concluded for both teams, EagleÂ
Matilda Taylor shot the ball just high of the Shark goal.
By the end of 90 minutes, neither team was able to convert its chances into goals, and the game remained tied.
The Eagles will look to stay unbeaten in their third away game of the season on Saturday, October 8 against Saint Leo at Thomas B. Southard Stadium in Saint Leo, Fla.
