TALLAHASSEE, Florida - Eleven of Embry-Riddle's 15 runners at Friday morning's Florida State Invitational broke their personal records, and that didn't even include
Paul Kraemer, who finished third, and his top-10 program 8K time. The Eagles were the best NCAA II team in the 30-team field, besting Flagler, Saint Leo, Tampa and others, while also bettering a slew of NCAA I squads.
Embry-Riddle - 152 points [3-12-13-60-64 (70) (90)]
The Blue and Gold totaled 152 point thanks in large part to a trio of runners in the top-15. Embry-Riddle's total time was 2:05.30.4 with a spread of just 1:20.1. NAIA member The Master's claimed the overall team trophy with 74 points, beating out host Florida State (87), ERAU (152), Indiana Wesleyan (152) and LSU (154).
The Eagles
Kraemer continued his fantastic season with his third place finish on Friday, narrowly missing out on the individual title in 24:28.1 (the race winner from FGCU went 24:23.8, just five seconds in front of Kraemer). His time marks the 10th-fastest in program history for an 8K race, his second-fastest time as an Eagle.
Brendon Shea (2:44.6) was less than a second off his personal best time, finishing 12th overall, followed closely by
Tanner Rosolino in 24:45.1, breaking his career-best time by 25 seconds. True freshmen
Tristan McWilliam (25:44.1) and
Andrew Stowe (25:48.1) both set PRs for ERAU, placing 62nd and 66th, respectively and rounding out ERAU's scorers.
Ryan Szklany (25:54.3) and
Jake Fritz (26:16.4) went 73rd and 100th overall, with Fritz claiming a PR in the process.
