WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – The Embry-Riddle men's tennis team notched its second straight victory of the season on Saturday, blanking Florida National 7-0. The Eagles are now 2-1 on the year.
The Eagles established themselves early in the contest, sweeping all three doubles matches.
Juan Ortiz Couder and
Andres Donayre, and
Alexis Guedy and
Alvaro Diaz Rodrigo picked up 6-2 wins on courts one and three, respectively, and
Lukas Schneider and
Michele Iftimie completed the sweep with a 6-4 victory on court two.
Singles play featured straight set wins for the Eagles at all six spots. Playing at No. 4, Diaz Rodrigo was the first to grab a point with his 6-2, 6-3 win over Umberto Particelli. Iftimie won his match at the third position by the same score and Schneider clinched the victory with his 6-1, 6-3 defeat of Sebastian Fujita at No. 6.
The Eagles' next match will be at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday when they host Ave Maria at the Crotty Tennis Complex.
