DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The Embry-Riddle women's tennis team kept on rolling on Tuesday with a 6-1 win over Montevallo (3-6) to earn a seventh-straight victory. It was the first-ever meeting between the two programs.

The first two doubles matches went to the home team as the Eagles (10-5) grabbed the opening point. Julia Mautner and Sabrina Ehrenfort were the first to finish thanks to a quick 6-0 defeat of Lieselott Hartlohner and Emily Hafner in No. 3 doubles. Jessica Wira Hadipoernomo and Mafalda Soares edged Eva Dirr and Isabelle Barfoot 7-6 (7-4) to grab the doubles point in doubles No. 2. Lastly, doubles No. 1 saw Itxaso Blanco and Carla Cabrera del Hierro narrowly fall 7-6 (7-5) to  Cyba Ozzor and Mireia Turro.

Singles action began with 14th-ranked Blanco getting revenge on Turro with a 6-4, 6-1 victory in No. 1 singles. Ehrenfort then swept Dirr 6-2, 6-1 to earn a point in No. 4 singles for the Blue and Gold.

Mautner clinched the match for Embry-Riddle with her 6-3, 6-4 win in No. 5 singles over Barfoot for the all-important fourth point. No. 2 singles was also a sweep with Cabrera del Hierro defeating Ozzor with a pair of 6-2 sets.

Wira Hadipoernomo fought through an exhausting second set to claim victory against Hafner 6-2, 7-6 (7-4) in No. 3 singles. Soares fell 6-3, 6-4 to Hartlohner in No. 6 singles, but the Eagles prevailed 6-1, nonetheless.

For both Blanco and Hadipoernomo, it was their 12th singles win in a row.

The Eagles get right back on the court tomorrow, March 23 for a match against No. 32 West Virginia State at 11 a.m.
