DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Embry-Riddle women's tennis extended its current winning streak to eight matches as the 37th-ranked Eagles handed No. 32 West Virginia State a 6-1 loss at the Crotty Tennis Complex on Wednesday. The win improves ERAU's overall record to 11-5, while the Yellow Jackets fall to 3-4.

Itxaso Blanco and Carla Cabrero del Hierro set the tone in doubles with their 6-2 defeat of Gaya Solomon and Chante Malo at the top spot. Sabrina Ehrenfort and Julia Mautner followed suit with their 6-3 win over Tuva Wallin and Lea Rolland at the third spot. Not to be outdone, Jessica Christa Wira Hadipoernomo and Mafalda Soares rallied from an early deficit to top Maya Haidari and Emily Moore 7-5 and complete the doubles sweep for the Blue and Gold.

The Eagles rode the momentum of their doubles success into singles dropping just 11 games in the first five matches off the court. The Blue and Gold picked up three singles victories in quick succession beginning with Wira Hadipoernomo's 6-1, 6-0 defeat of Malo at No 3. Blanco finished next with a pair of 6-1 sets against Solomon, and moments later, Mautner secured the team victory by blanking Rolland 6-0, 6-0.

Playing at No. 6, Soares scored the Eagles' fifth point with a 6-2, 6-1 win against Moore and Ehrenfort cappe the scoring for the Blue and Gold by dispatching Haidari 6-2, 6-2 at No. 4.
