DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Embry-Riddle men's tennis team notched its third win in a row on Tuesday, downing Lee 5-1 at the Crotty Tennis Complex. The Eagles improved their overall record to 8-2, while the Flames fall to 6-3 on the year.
Tuesday's match format was slightly different than normal in that the teams opted to play singles first and once the match was decided, they chose not to play doubles.
Michele Iftimie was the first to register a point for the Eagles with his 6-1, 6-3 win over Bruno Medeiros on court four. At the top spot,
Juan Ortiz Couder bested Nico Ramirez 6-3, 6-3, and
Alvaro Diaz Rodrigo followed with his 6-2, 7-5 win over Wihan Van Der Merwe at No. 5.
The clinching point came from
Alexis Guedy who dispatched Diego Garcia 6-1, 6-3 at the third position.
The Eagles will play a neutral site match at Sanlando Park in Altamonte Springs at noon on Wednesday, going up against Augustana.
