Rosellini to Play for National Title

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Enrico Rosellini continued to make program history when he won his semifinal match at the 2026 ITA DII National Singles Championship. Rosellini bounced back from a first set loss to top Lander's Harry Pugh to advance to the title match of the national championship, a first in the Embry-Riddle men's tennis program's NCAA II era.

In the opening set against the tournament's No. 2 seed, Rosellini was unable to get by Pugh, falling 6-3. In the second set Pugh took control early in the frame opening a 5-3 lead. Rosellini showed resilience, registering two breaks and a hold to force a tiebreaker. Following a 2-2 tie, he worked his way to a 6-4 lead in the tiebreaker and rocketed an ace past Pugh to win the tiebreaker 7-4 and force a third set.

The final frame was all Rosellini as the junior jumped out to a 4-0 lead. Pugh won two of the next three games, to make it 5-2, but Rosellini was perfect in his final service game, taking the set 6-2 and earning the right to play for a national championship.

Rosellini will play Flagler's Simon Malis for a national title at 10 a.m.(CST) on Sunday.
