DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Embry-Riddle women's tennis team notched its fifth shutout of the season with a 7-0 win against Bethune-Cookman, Tuesday at the Crotty Tennis Complex.
The Eagles (7-5) started Tuesday's match with a 1-0 advantage as the Wildcats (1-11) could only field five players.
Kaylee Kirivong and
Jessica Christa Wira Hadipoernomo started the scoring with a 6-0 win over Keona Burley and Elie Loncey and
Carla Cabero del Hierro and
Sabrina Ehrenfort wrapped up the doubles point for the Blue and Gold by topping Janet Imbo Nloga and Diarra Thomas 6-1.
The Eagles notched shutouts in the first three singles matches off the court as Kirivong downed Courdeja Clark,
Alessia Tripaldelli topped Loncey and Wira Hadipoernomo bested Burley.
Maja Issler got the better of a 6-2, 6-0 match against Thomas and Cabero del Hierro capped the scoring by holding off Imbo Nloga 6-0, 2-6, 10-1.
The Eagles return to Sunshine State Conference play on Friday when they travel to Winter Park to face No. 48 Rollins.
