DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – No. 31 Embry-Riddle Women's Tennis showed no ill effects from a quick turnaround after playing a late road match on Friday as the Eagles downed St. Olaf 7-0 at the Crotty Tennis Complex on Saturday. Saturday's victory marked the sixth shutout of the season for the Eagles who improve to 9-5 win the win. St. Olaf falls to 5-4 with the loss.
The Eagles scored shutouts at the second and third doubles position to win the doubles point with
Jessica Christa Wira Hadipoernomo and
Kaylee Kirivong downing Sarah Clark and Jane Spading, and
Rachel Swan and
Alessia Tripaldelli blanking Alexandra Berns and Anna Secor.
Tripaldelli was the first to finish her singles match, extending the Eagle lead to 2-0 with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Fiona O'Flaherty at No 4.
Sabrina Ehrenfort was next off the court following her 6-1, 6-0 win over Spading at No. 3 and Wira Hadipoernomo assured the Eagles of the team victory with her 6-3, 6-1 win over Allie Prokosch at No. 3.
Carla Cabero del Hierro was the next Eagle to score a point with her 6-2, 6-2 decision against Olha Zubarieva at No. 1. Playing at the sixth spot, Kirivong downed Secor 6-0, 6-2 and Swan capped the scoring by topping Clark 6-2, 6-0 at No. 5.
Next up for the Eagles is a March 31 home match against No. 13 Lynn.
