Women's Golf Climbs Babs Steffens Invitational Leaderboard to Close Out Regular Season

RESULTS
DEBARY, Florida - The Embry-Riddle women's golf team resembled its usual 2022-23 self on Tuesday as the Eagles wrapped up regualr season play at the Babs Steffens Invitational, hosted by Stetson. Embry-Riddle fired a 308, its sixth-lowest round of the season, en route to a ninth-place finish with a 951.

The Eagles carded nine birdies in their final 18 holes, ultimately moving past Drake, and beating out the Bulldogs, South Dakota State, Bellarmine, and Bethune-Cookman, all NCAA I institutions. ERAU's 308 was in the top half of team scores on Tuesday

Finishing 12th individually was Loa Johannsson with a 226 (79-75-72) over 54 holes, including her best round of the tournament on Tuesday, an even-par 72. ERAU's first-year phenom collected four birdies on Tuesday, including three in her final five holes.

Millie Lawson's 236 (76-81-79) was tied with Selina Budde (80-80-76=236) for second on the Blue and Gold, with Budde's 76 on Tuesday tying her season-low. Paula Valdivia (91-81-89=261) rounded out the Embry-Riddle scorers, while Stevie Albright (95-86-81=262) had her best round of the tournament in her final 18.

ERAU had two individuals at the tournament as Reni Jancsik (80-75-83=238) and Marybeth McGuire (85-79-81=245) finished 44th and 56th, respectively.

"We played so much more like us today," Head Coach Maria Lopez said. "We had several nice rallies today, and this was good prepararation for a strong conference championship coming up."

The Eagles will travel to Saint Leo and the Lake Jovita Country Club for the 2023 Sunshine State Conference Championship. Play begins April 16 and will conclude April 18.
