DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The 14th-ranked Embry-Riddle men's tennis team (3-6) earned its third win of the season with a 6-1 defeat of Grand Valley State (8-2) at the Crotty Tennis Complex on Tuesday.

Wins for the first and third flight Eagle tandems secured the doubles point for the Blue and Gold. Alvaro Diaz Rorigo and Fernando Alonso got the scoring started for the Eagles with a 6-2 defeat of Sebastian Arce and Patricia Sepulvedo at No. 3, and Alexis Guedy and Luke Paschal teamed up for a come-from-behind 6-3 win over Unai Gonzalez and Sean Miller to cap doubles play.

The first singles point of the day came on court three where Alonso dispatched Jack Dausman 6-0, 6-1. Taking the court close to 20 minutes after everyone else, Diaz Rodrigo notched the Eagles' third point when he downed Martin Matov 6-3, 6-3 at No. 4, but the Lakers got a point back when Gonzalez held off Guedy 6-4, 7-5.
