Men’s Golf Caps Off Fall Slate at Citrus Intercollegiate

CHAMPIONSGATE, Fla. - The Embry-Riddle men's golf team concluded the fall portion of its schedule on Tuesday with a 13th place finish at the Citrus Intercollegiate with a 916 total (301-307-308). The 16-team field included notable competitors such as No. 8 Lincoln Memorial and No. 21 Nova Southeastern, according to the latest Clippd rankings. Play was held at the par-72, 7,086-yard ChampionsGate Golf Club. 

As a team, the Eagles found success on par-5s by shooting two under on such holes, which ranked second in the field. ERAU also tied for the fifth-most birdies with 38.

For the first time this season, Ian Ball finished as the top individual with a 224 (73-73-78). The junior tallied three birdies over his last eight holes to capture his second top-20 result of the season (T-18th). Ball performed well on par-5s, tying for the fifth-best average on such holes (4.75).

Joon Kim (75-77-76=228) led the squad in birdies with 11, including a team-high four birdies on Tuesday. Three of those came over his final six holes. He also excelled on par-5 holes with an average of 4.67 to tie for second out of 84 competitors. 

Ryan Gear (75-86-74=235) was the low man of the day on Tuesday. Over 54 holes, the sophomore led the squad in pars with 33. Gear started and ended his round strong, going one under over the first four holes and one under in the last five holes.

Tiago Barni (81-77-80=238) registered a trio of birdies in his final round. Par-5s proved to be the senior's most successful holes as he shot two under par on such holes.

Edoardo Scialanga (78-80-81=239) closed out his performance with one birdie and four pars. 

Lincoln Memorial (868) remained at the top spot to win the tournament. Rollins (874) moved up to second and Cameron (887) placed third. 

Rollins' RJ Glod was the top individual at four under par (212).

The Eagles end the fall with three top-five finishes in four tournaments. It's about a three-month break before ERAU starts the spring with the Matlock Collegiate Classic on Feb. 10 in Lakeland, Florida.
