DAYTONA BEACH. Fla. – The No. 25 Embry-Riddle women's tennis team dropped a non-conference match for the first time this season, as the Eagles (6-2) fell 4-1 to the No. 14 Wingate Bulldogs (6-0).

The Bulldogs got off to a winning start in the doubles, with Chloe Kosmrlj and Daniela Kotara defeating Maja Issler and Laura Cuesta Bret 6-1 to take the No. 2 matchup. The Eagles responded in the No. 3 spot, as Jessica Christa Wira Hadipoernomo and Kaylee Kirivong scored a 6-2 victory over Claudia Vallejos and Annika Hakovirta. With it all coming down to the No. 1 matchup, Eva Siska and Suzuka Sambyakugari overcame a 4-3 deficit to defeat ERAU's Itxaso Blanco and Carla Cabero del Hierro, taking the doubles point.

Wira Hadipoernomo got the Eagles started off right in the singles, defeating Vallejos 6-2, 6-0 in the No. 5 slot. After that, the Bulldogs struck back in the No. 1 singles with a 6-3, 6-4 win by Siska over Blanco. Kosmrlj took the No. 2 matchup with a 6-2, 6-4 win over Issler, putting Wingate up 3-1.

Fernanda Castillo defeated Cabero del Hierro 0-6, 6-3, 6-3 to claim the No. 4 singles and give Wingate the 4-1 victory.
