HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The Embry-Riddle men's cross country team capped off the regular season with a momentous fourth-place finish at the UAH Charger XC Invitational, posting several historic marks in the process. The 25-team field featured a stacked lineup that included No. 5 Lee (Tenn.), No. 22 Charleston (W.Va.), No. 26 Anderson (S.C.), and No. 26 host Alabama Huntsville.

The Eagles relied on a familiar scoring five of Nicholas Scarangelli, Taye Newman, Joseph Koraya, Henry Friedrichs, and Elijah Wiggins. Both Scarangelli and Newman delivered standout performances, each etching their names into the ERAU record books. Scarangelli clocked 24:31.4, the 18th-fastest 8K time in program history, while Newman ran 24:41.2, the second-fastest 8K ever by a freshman at Embry-Riddle.

Senior Tayan Benson, who finished 13th at last season's NCAA II South Regional, made his long-awaited season debut, adding depth and experience to the lineup.

The Blue and Gold also turned in one of the most impressive team efforts in program history, averaging 24:57, the third-fastest team average ever for the Eagles. They were one of only four teams in the field to average under 25 minutes and finished just eight points behind No. 26 Alabama Huntsville, currently ranked third in the South Region, a result that could prove significant come November at the NCAA II South Regional.

"Great performance today as we closed the gap on some teams we raced in Kenosha," head coach Mike Rosolinosaid. "I thought we competed really well all race and showed that we deserve to be in the conversation for the top 25–35 teams in the country. I'm really proud of the effort today."

Embry-Riddle will now shift its focus to the Sunshine State Conference Championships at Holloway Park on October 25, a course the Eagles are growing increasingly familiar with as the postseason approaches.
